Selection for 2017 FISAF World Championships Team

The NZCAF Executive Committee, along with the NZCAF Technical Committee, has decided a different competition format which will be used to select, qualify and develop a team to represent New Zealand at the 2017 FISAF World Fitness Championships, being held in Leiden, Netherlands in October.

This is due to prohibitive financial and geographical factors with regards to the running of the FISAF qualifying competition for 2017. If you have any questions, please contact Debbie Norton at president@nzcaf.com

Selection

1 May 2017: Selection by video submission

All athletes and teams genuinely wanting to be considered for international selection to the New Zealand team will be required to submit a video recording of their routine.

All submissions are to be uploaded to the official dropbox.

Once the routine has been submitted please notify the panel with an email to president@nzcaf.com

The below criteria needs to be met:

  • The routine recording need be only of one minute in length, working towards a full two minute routine.  Please feel free to submit more than one minute or a full routine if you are able too.
  • Also required will be a video of any skills that you are yet to put into the second half of the routine.
  • Armlines will be required, basic armlines will suffice.
  • All skill elements will be performed at full intensity and not broken down into parts. Example – a straddle jump to push landing must not have feet to the ground before the push landing
  • You must be in appropriate attire, preferably your competition costume if possible
  • Your skill list (FRF) for your entire two minute routine must accompany the submission of the routine to enable selectors to look at the vertical structure and the skill elements in the last quarter of the routine (PDF format)
  • Selectors will give feedback and suggestion for improving; the routine, training of skills, attire, music, skill lists etc

From this video submission the selectors will select the 2017 FISAF New Zealand Team.
The selectors will apply the relevant judging criteria as well as athlete/team potential in order to select the team.
